November is here. It is a time to gather. It is a time to be grateful. And let’s not kid ourselves – it’s a time to eat, to munch and mosey around the snack table once more. Seconds are completely acceptable due to cozy sweaters that cover any unwanted bodily imperfections (swimsuit season is over…finally). In November, I give myself a permission slip to grab the venti hot cocoa and add whip.
Yes, it’s fall, and I am falling in love with the colored leaves and the smell of comfort food. Anything pumpkin is appropriate, especially on the dinner table. I am a traditionalist in many ways: a huge “must” for me is having extra pumpkin spice in anything, from September first to New Year’s Day (after that, I put away the orange and say ciao for yet another year).
I’ve recently been looking for ways to add pumpkin goodness into our November meals. I found plenty of options in this latest Country Living article, “55 of the Best Savory Pumpkin Recipes.” What a heavenly smell these recipes will add to your home! Just imagine it: cool nights, warm oven and fire burning. Give me a blanket, my sweet family and a cup of coffee (in my ProFmag mug, of course). What’s the best pumpkin recipe you have tried?
